Abstract

|
The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of lifestyle on subjective mental and physical health among baby-boomers to seek practical implication for the future aging population. Data used for this study were from the Baby-boomer Study funded by Korea National Research Foundation in 2011. A total of 1,021 cases of baby-boomers were participated in this study. Empirical evidence from this study indicated different associations on subjective mental and physical health by participants¡¯lifestyle. For baby-boomers, physical activity focused lifestyle was statistically associated with physical health while physical activity focused, safety and materialistic pursuit, and conservative family values pursuit were statistically associated with mental health. Based on these findings, suggestions for social work interventions were discussed.
